Program Objective

The City University of Hong Kong and Krystal Institute jointly propose to launch the "Certificate in Business Intelligence and Enterprise Resource Planning Programmer" course to accelerate the training of local IT professionals and enhance their knowledge and skills in business management tools and technology usage. This course is designed to meet the fast-paced development and needs of the digital economy, to facilitate human resource development in the industry, to contribute to the competitiveness of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area in IT, and to provide employment opportunities and skills for the non-working population in Hong Kong.

The course focuses on concrete practices, which would equip students with immediate employability.

1. Be familiar with the use of open source business management systems such as BIRT, Apache OfBiz, etc., the related operation interface, and installation methods ("Fundamentals of Business Management System Development Tools" module)

2. Be familiar with the basic software development process ("Fundamentals of Business Management System Development Tools" module)

3. To understand the importance of ERP for business administration ("Basics of ERP Platform Development" module)

4. Use enterprise resource planning platforms such as Apache OfBiz as the basis for developing enterprise resource planning tools for accounting, human resources, marketing and other corporate departments ("Basics of ERP Platform Development" module)

5. To understand the importance of business intelligence for business operations and corporate strategies ("Business Intelligence Platform Development Fundamentals" module)

6. Use a business intelligence platform such as BIRT as the basis for developing real-time reporting tools for enterprises ("Business Intelligence Platform Development Fundamentals" module)

7. Design and develop business intelligence dashboards using data generated by the ERP platform ("ERP Platform and Business Intelligence Dashboard Project" module)

8. Develop data integration suite ("ERP Platform and Business Intelligence Dashboard Project" module)

9. Generate business intelligence reports ("ERP Platform and Business Intelligence Dashboard Project" module)

10. Master Self and Emotional Management Skills ("Personal Skills and Job Hunting Skills" module)

11. Strengthen positive work attitudes ("Personal Skills and Job Hunting Skills" module)

12. To enhance the understanding and mastery of communication and interpersonal skills, and to apply them appropriately in workplace communication (including communication and dealing with supervisors, subordinates and colleagues) and customer service ("Personal Skills and Job Hunting Skills" module)

13. To enhance knowledge and understanding of job-seeking skills and employment knowledge, and be able to make appropriate analysis and choices for use in the workplace, including job-seeking and interviewing, formulating management codes and work procedures in accordance with relevant regulations, etc. ("Personal Skills and Job Hunting Skills" module)
